  1. Def going to be a rematch. Should be a good fight. I have a feeling the outcome will be different.
  2. Ok I will take a look and maybe we can make some headway on what’s what.
  3. Take a piece of a bicycle brake cable and separate the strands and use one of the strands. It works great. Or go on amazon and they have a small kit that has all sorts of small cleaning tips for that work. Just look up a carburetor cleaning tool. As far as the shifter goes I would have a welder make up some linkage and do some custom work. BUT YOU HAVE TO DISCONNECT ALL ELECTRICAL ITEMS ON THE ENGINE BEFORE YOU WELD ON THE FRAME! you will do damage to the stator coil and rectifier. The starter will come out it’s going to take some finesse. Look on YouTube and search starter removal on an atc 200 Honda and see what comes up.
  4. Could have been a change over period and may have to go with the 90 but only if it’s an exact match. “Not more like mine” that won’t work. You have to be sure.
  5. That wear and tear looks normal to me. Make sure your not having ignition breakdown with the in line tester and double check that gap on the pick up coil. Maybe the cdi is bad but thats not testable. If you have someone with another bike that’s similar in years you can swap em out to see.
  6. I know the feeling. But keep in mind that the Honda dealers can help you out with old parts when in need but eBay has most of the stuff your looking for. Also my response was just a guess. I could be wrong but I bet I’m in the ball park. What’s on the list of things to do ?
  7. Yes you will need a wheel puller to get that off. I’m honestly feeling like the engine is blown and may be beyond repair. You really have to take a good look and see what happened. The engine could have locked up and came to a complete stop and broke that oil pump gear. Best bet is to take it all apart and see what the main bearing looks like. Worst case is you lost time.
  8. Welcome to quad crazy. The piston would probably fit but it’s not worth using it. There are two ways to go about it. You can bore the cylinder out and go with a bigger piston and rings and maybe have to re-jet the carb. Or you can buy a used one from eBay but I would buy a new piston since it’s all torn down. I just looked and found a used jug in great condition for $166. I rebuilt one of the same bikes about a year ago. Water cooled bike was super strong. I think I paid $45 bucks for a full gasket kit on amazon. I would also do the valve seals while your in there. But this all depends on the condition of the bike and if it’s worthwhile. Also are you sure the oil pump gear was the problem? Because here’s my question. The oil pump brings oil to the head to oil the top end valves, cams etc not the cylinder walls. That’s done by the oil that’s in the lower end. The piston could have just blown because it was beat on or the bike was ran out of oil.
  9. Really the only thing I can think of is the timing. But even if the timing was off you would still get an ignition in the cylinder head burning off the fuel unless the exhaust stroke is pushing it out of the head and into the exhaust too fast before a full burn off? That’s a funny looking question! You’ve checked the spark is not breaking down after a few minutes of running ? I've seen some pick up coils out of spec with regard to the gap at the flywheel so maybe it’s a shot in the dark to check? Second is the pick up coil failing after it heats up and that would show up on the in line spark tester after a few minutes of running.
  10. They really are. I’ve made so many different types of screw drivers to get up in there. This adjustment screw makes life a lot easier.
  11. What makes you think it’s flooded? Wet plug? Excessive fuel left in the head ? Just curious. Valves should be adjusted to spec. A little wear is expected on the valves and rockers but would still be able to run. Have you tried to rebuild the original carburetor? I know aftermarket carbs are inexpensive but they don't work really well. I would rebuild the carb and set the air fuel mixture screw as per the manual and go from there. Then check ALL air intakes for any restrictions like bees or rodent nests. Check that the boot that connects the carburetor to the engine does not have a crack in it or a broken connection. Check the fuel delivery system and make sure the vent at the top of the tank is clear and not building up pressure inside the tank forcing unnecessary fuel pressure through the fuel line. I don’t think that bike has a fuel pump ? Make sure your fuel is clean. This should eliminate the fuel/carburetor problems. If the condition persists then you may have a break down in the ignition system and not a fuel problem. Maybe get an ignition spark in line tester that will show you the spark while the bike is running. If the spark breaks down as the bike gets hot it could be a bad pick up coil or rectifier, cdi etc. All can be tested with the exception of the cdi.
  12. Hey @JacobSlabach welcome back how was the trip ? What do you mean behind it ? Is the cable connected and working and have you shifted the shifter so see if the gears are working ?
  13. Wow cool mod to a go kart. It looks like an old Honda atc 200 engine. Maybe 82-85 on the year.
  14. No worries. That’s what Quadcrazy is here for.
  15. He’s super heavy lol. Didn’t look like he was in the shape of a heavyweight fighter by any means. I wonder what he’s thinking on this Monday morning! I’m not sure what the purse was but it had to be decent $
  16. Busy bee ! looking good brother. I like the stiffener plates on the rear. Shop looks great and I love the table. Probably one of my next purchases. Nice work.
  17. I watched a few minutes of the fight. I could not believe the outcome. He looked out gunned but just goes to show you that if you land a few in the right places the mighty can fall!
  18. 7/12’s is money ! Make it while you can! I’ve taken a look and there are parts out there. Even on eBay, depending on the parts you need. Make a list and post it on the forum and I’m sure myself and a few other members will know where to look and point you in the right direction and help out.
  19. You will get there brother. And it’s very rewarding when you do. Once it’s running right then all the other stuff you want to do is a blast.
  20. Any deeper ???? Any deeper your going to have a brand new bike when your done! Lol just kidding...... Take a look on YouTube I’ve seen a few different videos on splitting the engines for the Vinson just make sure you keyword it right. Cant hurt to post some pics where your stuck, maybe another set of eyes 👀 can help.
  21. Your welcome. I hope it’s something relatively simple. Any questions you might have ask away. Also post some pics as it makes it easier to visualize something with a pic to help you out and don’t be shy there’s no such thing stupid question related to a quad repair. Good luck and yes please keep us posted.
  22. Unfortunately your going to have to go through all of the components of the drive train to see what’s going on. Inspect everything, drive shafts, universal joints etc. You could be doing more bad then good by running it. I don’t think that the tires would do that but what I would double check and super important is the size of the tires. If the fronts are severely worn out it could cause a problem because 4x4,s must have all four tires rotating at the same time. So if one set of tires are worn out the tires essentially become smaller and rotate faster then the others. That can screw up the 4x4 last thing I would recommend is double checking all of your motor mount bolts, shock mounts and bushings etc. make sure nothing is jumping/banging because of a broken or missing bolt.
  23. Have you taken the differential cover off and inspected everything ? Also try to get the bike off of the ground (all four wheels) safely and put it in 4wd give a little throttle maybe you can listen in and see what’s happening.
