2012 Yamaha Grizzly 700 - Will Not Shift

i think this is more the problem here from what i have been reading ... BillaVista.com - ATV Tech Article by BillaVista -
Do you have the push-button-Honda-like-shifter mechanism? I know there has been some electrical issues with some of these machines. Mostly related to the semi-automatic shifter-system, and to the little electrical motor that engages and disengages the 4x4. This little motor often burns up internally, and therefor need replacement. You can loosen the engage/disengage-motor by loosening the 4 screws in the pic below, and open it up, having a look-see. There will come some diff-fluid when you take the motor out, so be sure to add some when putting it all together again. If you have a test light there are a few simple tests to determine if it's your actuator or your switch that is giving you the shift problem, first make sure you have a your test light connected to a good ground, turn your ignition to the on position,(do not start it) now turn your 4x4 switch to the on position or the engage position. Now with the test light touch the connectors at the actuator to see if there is any power at the actuator.

i have seen them less than 100$ ... quick fix, off with the cover, 1 big nut to take off, 3 small bolts on the stator, and 2 smaller ones on the pick up coil ... usually have to reverse the 2 wires coming out of the cover on the connector and brrraaappp .... -

1987 Yamaha Warrior 350 - Hard To Start

i would bet that if you put a new stator and pick up coil (sold together), it would run like a top there are voltage test you can do to check ... -

they dont connect to anything ... the overflow from the bowl will drop in the centre of the swingarm, so fuel will just spill on the ground, and the vent usually runs alongside the gas tank on the rail heading to the handlebars ...
-
should be 3 lines, fuel in, bottom of bowl for overflow, and another mid height for venting ...
-
there should be 2 nuts holding the carb to the rubber manifold, those come off as do the gear clamp (just loosen it) for the air box. once done, you should be able to wrestle it out the side. it will be easier to do if you remove the gas tank first. there will be 4 phillips screws to remove the bowl.

1994 Suzuki ltf250 - Cranks Up~Then Quits
oxidized_black replied to BURNETT73's topic in Suzuki ATV Forum
i would take the petcock off first, or even the hose leading to the carb and make sure it flows. i would check your voltage regulator with an ohm meter and make sure you are getting steady current. last i would take the carb off and clean it thoroughly, the wire twist ties you get for garbage bags, strip them to the metal and run them through everything and use lots of carb cleaner, make sure the needle and seat are good, needle should have a nice point to it. make sure the float level is at the right height too. -

mine is very hard to read on the bottom rail too. i layed on the floor looking at it with a flashlight, but there are 17 digits. my # is JY43HHN0XMA075816. if you get a partial number from more the middle, you can get the year ... most times the sticker is curled and peeled off, but you may be lucky ...
-
the vin will be right where your toe lands shifting gears on the bottom frame rail. it is there, very hard to see, use a flashlight. the other place the where a sticker is, is on the front of the motor rail going up to the handlebars. same side as stamped number by toe shifter. you should be able to see it while on your knees looking for the stamped number. there are no Os, just zeros, and no Is, just ones ... 17 digits, 10th is year, maybe an M,N,O or P if you think its in that era ...
