Did you replace it with a new cdi? There may be sensors on that machine that will limit spark to slow the egine down if let's say the belt was slipping or it had a rollover which could be causing an issue. Usually it would be a cdi or coil issue, I would think. * Added issue into your thread title.

Welcome to QUADCRAZY! It sounds to me like you may have an electrical issue with fuel delivery or just a bad fuel pump that intermitently stops working or gets overheated. Maybe also as simple as a bad relay. There should be a fuel relay under the seat I believe. Try tapping that when it is not running or open your gas tank cap and/or hit the side of the plastic tank to send a vibration to the pump, to see if it kicks on. When it is not running, do you hear the pump go on? -
