  1. i wouldnt think it was the belt, but, you could take the side cover off and rev the engine in gear (and rear blocked up) to see if the clutch moves ...

  3. nothing. it should work fine without the engine break, just watch yourself going down hills if you have a load because you have no engine assist ... the bearing might be 100 $ and an afternoon or less to change. you might have a little "whine" if you leave it ... it is part # 26 here ...
  4. follow the cable from the speedo/odometer to behind the engine, should be on the transmission. i think there are little plastic gears that may have gotten stripped. if you unhook the speedo, you can spin where the tab goes in to make sure its not just at the dash pod ...
  5. the machine runs fine, just no jake brake without that bearing ... heres what it does : The centrifugal clutch attaches to the crankshaft, when your going the crankshaft spins faster and throws the clutch weights out engaging the clutch which turns the change clutch and transmission. When you let off the throttle the weights go to the rest position therefore no longer connecting the crankshaft (engine) to the transmission. The one way clutch bearing spins free in one direction and locks in the other (the reason for the name). So when your cruising along and let off the throttle the weights retract and it's up to the one way bearing to lock the system together for engine braking. If it's bad the system is no longer locked and it will be like a transmission in neutral, no hold on a steep hill.
  6. bad 1-way bearing under the centrifugal clutch possibly ,,, not sure if a clutch adjustment would do anything ...
