  1. Yamaha, I will re-enforce what Outlander said, there is no need to tell anyone that their ATV is crap. I have known several people who have owned Polaris ATV's and been completely satisfied with them. Kyle, if you are having the same problems, I would take the same advise that the last guy was given, have you checked your air cleaner?
  2. Changed title and moved thread like I shoud have done before. Have you figured out anything yet?
  3. Dude, nice nipple shot, and sweet helmet hair. Seriously though, that sucks, I hope you can be up and riding again soon. I can relate to the frustration, I just recently got healthy enough to ride after an injury, the wait was as excrutiating as the injury itself.
  4. Haven't decided, my friends want to keep it on the cheap and camp and I am leaning toward the cabin, we will decide soon after one friend gets his time off from work approved. I wanted to have a place booked by now, and am in kind of a rush to get things set so I may end up comprimising on the camp site just to get it done and over with.
  5. Got a few pics to put up in a project thread, along with a ride report. Will be posting all that in the next few days.
  6. I have never even owned a set of paddle tires before, I just know that Skat-track has been making paddle tires ever since I knew what ATV's were. I just figured that the 8 paddle edges would be best suited to my preferences whick is sliding around sideways every where I go. They are on 10in rims and they will fit all my rides, so they will go wherever I put them. As far as the "other crap" goes, everything works great, but the Protec Moflow airbox lid is a piece of garbage and will be going right back. It doesn't even snap into place, it just kind of sits on top of the airbox and you are supposed to zip-tie it into place. It doesn't seal worth a crap. I was able to basically immitate the idea with a piece of Outerwears material and a modified stock lid. It snaps into place, seals up nicely, and cost about $90 less.
  7. I have decided on Discovery point. I am a nervous freak when it comes to leaving my stuff unattended. It isn't so much going to sleep, because I know I will be right there close by. I am more concerned with leaving one of my rides unattended while I am out riding the other. Besides, I think we will only have enough room on the truck and trailer for 3 quads, since there will be three of us coming, I only get to bring one anyways. I just got a few go fast goodies for the LTR, so I won't miss the 500R as much.
  8. Certainly look at the plug, even if it looks ok, change it and see what happens. Start with the simplest things first. Also, there could very well be something stuck in the carb, it couldn't hurt to take a look inside there and give it a good cleaning, but first, make sure the gas is getting there like the previous poster suggested, it does sound like a fuel starvation issue to me.
  9. When you cleaned the carb, didi you find any gummed fuel or debris? Did you blow out ALL passages and vents with compressed air? It sounds like you may have something stuck in your pilot jet, or maybe the fuel screw needs adjustment. Wouldn't hurt to check compression and timing chain/tensioner.
  10. Got $5 that says it's a problem with the compression release. Would have suggested that earlier, but I did not catch this thread until the day that Bansheeboy posted that he had already sent it to the shop.
  11. No problem man, glad to hear you were able to get something figured out. It is nice to have those kinds of resources at your disposal isn't it?
  12. I would call or visit a Suzuki dealer and talk to a service tech, hopefully you find a friendly one who won't mind sharing info with you. Or you could try using your search engine on your web browser to find some info on cam/valve timing for your machine. Or wait a day or two and see if someone here who owns a similar machine can help you.
  13. That is strange, however, I am sure that a good quality aftermarket pad designed for extended life will last a bit longer that OEM pads. Also, could you please post the year, make and model of the ATV's you are referring to.
  14. Yeah, I think that right, it is on the NE corner of Windy Cove County Park. I didn't notice at first that there is a three night minimum stay, so I am trying to convince my buddies to take Monday off work too and stay an extra night. They are wanting to just find a campground with direct access, so we will see. I want to have a secure place to store my bikes so I can bring the 500R too, but I guess I can wait a while longer to get that beast in the sand, maybe camping won't be such a bad idea. Saving a few bucks and being able to ride off whenever we please will be nice, and I guess it won't be so bad having only one quad to ride around. I have just bought a couple of goodies for the LTR, so it should be a little more fun out there than it would be now.
  15. red private parts
  16. I would start with a thorough cleaning of that carb, make sure to clean EVERYTHING, take it comlpletely apart and blow out all small passages with compressed air. Also, check any rubber parts like diaphragms, gaskets and o-rings. P.S. could someone move this into the Artic Cat forum?
  17. Thanks guys, I will be leaving work early tomorrow so I can be there to support her and kick the prosecuting attorney in the crotch. She kind of did this to herself this time, but there was no reason for there to be any charges in the first place, this is just one of those times when the justice system has failed. BTW, MWKE, I think that every Valentines day should be celebrated with several hundred bullets, I may try that myself next year.
  18. Thats right, I did get my taxes back. I will take pics and document the modifications as I go.
  19. I just spent about $2000 at Rockymountain ATV. I am expecting several boxes of goodies to show up on my doorstep Wed. or Thurs. New Holeshot GNCC's, Skat-track edge 8 paddles with new rims, complete set of skid plates, new Lexx pipe and fuel programmer, Precision steering stabilizer, stage 1 Hotcams with complete shim kit, a Protec Moflow airbox lid. I can't wait.
  20. I would start by taking the wheel and hub off, you may be able to remove a circlip and pull the axle and bearings out from the outside. If that does not seem to be possible, then you might have to remove the entire axle housing from the rear diff and take it out from the inside. I would highly recommend buying a service manual or atleast consulting a dealer tech who can tell you for sure, how it needs to be done.
  21. Good to hear you got it fixed. For future reference, a solenoid is just a magnetic switch that connnects two poles to complete a circuit, so it does not matter which wire is hooked to which pole of the solenoid. As long as it is connected to the battery on one side and to the starter on the other, the low current signal wire is hooked up properly and the solenoid body is properly grounded, it will work.
  22. I have decided on a place, it is a little house with a decent size garage to park the toys in and it is only seconds away from the riding area. I don't think there is direct riding access, but the whole trailer will fit in the garage with the quads loaded on it so all we will have to do is hook up and go. Unfortunately, MWKE, there is no hot tub at this one, so you may not be needing the speedo. But it was cheap, looks like a decent place, pretty cheap, and sleeps up to 7 people, 4, if no one shares a bed. But most important to me is the garage, I want to be able to sleep at night, knowing my stuff is relatively safe and locked up. I am still waiting to hear back from the owner, but the dates I want are open, and I plan to pay for the stay now before I blow the extra cash. I figure, if I take care of the lodging, whoever else comes with can pay for the gas to get down there.
  23. with all the
  24. I woke up to the Police at my door and arresting my wife, happy freakin Valentines day. Long story not so short, my wife got arrested the summer before last on a B.S. situation caused by two of her so called "friends". I never approved of these scum by the way. Anyways when it came time to fess up, they denied what they had done, and left my innocent wife to take the fall. Completely frustrated and pissed off at the whole thing she kind of ignored her probation requirements, against my recommendation. I realize that she did not do anything wrong, but I tried to explain to her that if she didn't follow through with the orders that it would only get worse. We heard nothing for a while, and about two weeks ago, she got a letter from the department of corrections, I assume it was a warrant, but she just round filed it like everything else, so she had no idea that she had a warrant for her arrest. Well, she found out today. The real crappy thing is, not only is it a crappy Valentines day for her, but it is sunday and tomorrow is a holiday, so she can't see a judge until Tuesday, that means no bail and she has to sit there until she goes to court at 1:30 PM on Tuesday. Meanwhile, I am stuck here at home with a disabled child, so my Mother-in-law is coming over to spend the night, so I can go to work tomorrow. So, in conclusion, St. Valentine can kiss my as*.
  25. And he wont chew up you shoes or sh*t on your carpet.
