Sounds like you are running out of fuel in the bowl, maybe an improperly adjusted float. Could be that the carb needs to be cleaned out as well. The other possibility I see is that the CDI or pickup coil could be malfunctioning. Couldn't hurt to check the valve clearance, compression and timing chain as well. At any rate, definately change the plug first, and look at the color of the insulator on the old plug, the condition of the spark plug can be a good indicator of your problem.

Maybe something is not connected properly, could be a bad relay, or the switch itself may be faulty. A test light or multimeter could be a big help in diagnosing your problem, just follow the power from the battery through the switch and to the winch motor, you should be able to find where the power supply is interupted.

Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and hook it back up. If you still have the light, then maybe you need to check other maintinence needs, could be a clogged air cleaner or something.

Try Service Honda.com or ebay. It might be tough to find an anything aftermarket for that model. You might, however be able to find a cable for something else that fits your ride, throttle cables are pretty simple creatures, finding on that is the correct length is the most important thing, other that length they don't differ much from one another.

It will fit, the OEM part #'s are the same for the swingarm and carrier.

2002 Quadrunner 500 4x4 Transmission issue
DirtDemon replied to Mudflap64's topic in Suzuki ATV Forum
When you open it up, pay special attention to the shift fork guide shafts, sometimes they get notched a bit and cause binding. I had that problem in the tranny in my CR 500 quad, and the rear brakes on my LTR also had the same issue with notching in the guide shaft bolts for the brake pads.- 14 replies

2003 Polaris Predator 500 rear wheel hub???
DirtDemon replied to CHEAPCRACKER's topic in Polaris ATV Forum
I would be willing to bet that it will fit, to be sure, look up the parts on a Polaris parts fische and compare the part #'s for both years. -
To be sure that you aren't getting spark, take the plug out, connect it to the boot and ground the plug to the motor. Crank the motor over to check for spark. I think you are probably right, but it is best to be sure. If it is indeed lack of spark that is your problem, then you have are on the right track, I would, however, check the kill switch and key switch and all connections first. You want to rule out the simplest and cheapest problems before you start spending money on more expensive parts. BTW, JB68, Ricky Stator is a brand name, they make aftermarket ignition products and even other hard parts like a-arms and such.

Anyone here have any Pull????
DirtDemon replied to mywifeknowseverythin's topic in General ATV Discussion
Not yet, I plan to make it at the end of this week, I am still trying to figure out how many people I can get to go with me. I have been looking at condo and house rentals with dune access, quite a few killer places for $150-200 a night, most have garages and hot tubs and sleep up to 12-13 people. There will probably be atleast me and a buddy, but I may get my boss and his fam and a few other friends to go, they are interested, but haven't commited yet. At this point, I am looking forward to it so much, I will come by myself if I have to. -
First thing you need to do is figure out what is missing, fuel or spark. Your problem is most likely electrical if it was triggered by something getting wet. If you don't have spark, use a multimeter and start following the power supply to the ignition system and find the opening in the curcuit.

An aftermarket CDI will replace your factory unit, I believe the rev box is a piggyback item that just overrides the stock rev limiter and timing curve.

How about QUADCRAZY duct tape, it's fun for kids of all ages. -
Robert De Niro. The little thumbnail gave it away, you can make out the face better in the smaller pic. I was going to guess John Mcenroe before I looked at the thumbnail.

Ride on brother, if you ask me riding is better than walking anyway. Good that you have things to enjoy that M.S. can't take away from you.

Angelina Jolie.

Added year make and model to the thread title. Your clutch may just be a little stuck. You might just need to take it apart and clean it up a bit, or it may be time for new springs and a belt. At any rate, you will need to look at the clutches and belt to see what the problem is for sure.

Do you want to turn that Raptor into a trike?

It not being a huge thing is what makes it perfect. I just want to get out of town for a bit and tear up some sand. I am also happy to do my part to keep our riding areas clean and OPEN. If everyone trashes these places and no one is willing to pick up afterthemselves, then we will likely lose the privilege. I am not sure how I will be camping yet, that depends on who I can get to go with me. -
Opie, did you notice that this thread is a year old? This poster has not logged on since last February. I am curious however about the fact that you have to remove the compression release with the Hotcam on the 400EX. My friend put a stage 1 Hotcam in his 450R, and it worked with the compression release. I wonder why they would not make the EX cams compatable with the compression release?

I'm sorry, I did not mean the air cleaner, there is a second blow by tube on the valvle cover, it may have a filter on it, or it may run into the airbox. Either way, make sure nothing is obstructing it. Also, the lower tube that comes out of the crankcase is connected to a catch tank that attatches to the intake tube, make sure that tank is not clogged either.

1991 Polaris Sportsman 400 Not Charging Battery
DirtDemon replied to yamaman's topic in Polaris ATV Forum
If you can find a manual, get one, it will prove to be well worth the money. Until then, you can probably get a dealer tech to give you test specs and procedures. -
My son is disabled, he will most likely never be able to ride himself, but I have been thinking about a UTV for my wife, then we can take him along. I don't know if I will be able to get him to keep a helmet on though, I can't even get him to wear a hat. In fact, he doesn't let me wear them either, he insists on taking them off for me.

Caught you double posting again Bot, you silly goose. You almost got away with that one for a whole year.

I have pretty much decided to go, which would be the best place to camp for the event? I will reserve a spot.
