  1. Look at this thread. http://www.quadcrazy.com/atvforum/arctic-cat-atv-forum/10091-extract-print-arctic-cat-atv-schematics.html You can get the schematic for the machine there and the thread shows you how to print it out. You need a meter to check the fuses, they may look ok, but you could have still blown one. Next I would check the ignition switch and if possible jump it out to test it. Mike
  2. 12 volts wouldn't shock anything. Unless you have that battery wired to something like an electric fence unit to boost the voltage up (and lower the current so it isn't lethal) Mike
  3. The Bucktail Medical Center Relay for Life Team along with the community is planning the 2nd Annual ATV ride which is slated for June 9th. This event honors cancer survivors and those who have lost their battles. This ride will start in Renovo, PA at the Heritage Park lot traveling to the “Bloody Skillet” parking lot on DeHaas Road and back - an estimated 50 mile jaunt. For this day we will have local vendors, organizations, and businesses will have stands avaible hoping to make it a community day. **All participants will receive a t-shirt and meal for joining this event** This is a great event for a good cause. I attended it last year and there was plenty of time after the event to hit the state trails to ride some more. Event info and registration is here. 4. Depending on the machine, some have a screen pan. I stripped my plug on my machine and simply replaced the screen pan. ($40) Diagram shown is an Arctic Cat.
  5. I recently had a situation on a ride where I was going through an old railroad tunnel and hit a puddle and BLAM! quad died right in the tunnel. After being towed out my main fuse was blown. Replaced it and all seemed fine until I switched on my lights, then the main blew again. Replaced it and rode back without using the lights. Next day everything was fine. Took the headlight connections apart and cleaned & greased them. I would think it is a similar situation, multiple loads, none of which would blow the associated fuse but together drawing a bit too much and blows the main. One thing you can do is the next time it blows one, look at it carefully, if it looks like the strip inside just melted then it is an overload condition, if it vaporized, that means a short circuit. That would most likely be a wire in the harness in the rear section of the quad. You mentioned a tow behind mower and such, does it draw any power from the quad? (hooks up to the rear accessory port?) Mike
  6. Sounds like his fuel tank is in the rear and he won't have a shut off valve. He was describing a fuel pump system. I can vouch for seafoam as well. good stuff to use. Mike
  7. You can download a service manual for free here. http://www.quadcrazy.com/atvforum/arctic-cat-atv-forum/8558-need-service-manual-here-they.html Read the owners manual and keep up on the maintenance and it should run fine. Mike
  8. Funny you say that as we were looking for remains of a colliery near a mine site. The trail mostly grows in and can be hard to follow in the summer.
  9. Thanks, the bighorns ride well in the snow. Too bad this year isn't snowy.
  10. The color of the smoke (and maybe smell) would help troubleshooting. Mike
  11. A solo ride in the fresh snow. Over 12 inches had fallen at the time this was taken.

  13. Mine had a similar problem, at times only seemed like I was giving it 1/3 throttle. The diaphragm in the slide was bad, although visually looked fine. Mike
  14. Waymart is a nice place to live, close to the Casey highway which is easy access to other major highways. Mike
  15. Tomorrow is the event! Hope to see you there. Weather is going to be perfect.
  16. Typically the stock batteries are junk and don't last long. I replaced mine with an aftermarket maintenance free one and its been working well. Mike
  17. A roll of electrical tape, zip ties, flashlight, spare fuses. There is a kit out there for like $20 that gives you a bottle of slime and a compressor. Get that along with a plug kit as well. Mike
  18. For airflow to keep it cooler. That is why when people snorkel their machines you usually see three pipes. Mike
  19. Oh I will be there, I am helping them out again this year with prepping the trail and leading a group of riders. Here is a video I made from last years run. Last year they had 654 riders. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNX2oH_lhcs]‪Hallstead ATV Poker Run 2010‬‏ - YouTube[/ame] Mike
