Just picked up a new 2018 Chevy Tahoe to haul the Jumping Jack and quads. The Trailblazer was starting to get too many problems with it and it was time. Looking around at late model used, the prices were still up there so I figure just go for it and buy new. More then enough towing capacity for our needs and more cargo room for camping gear

Next step would be the coil. I attached the diagram, it is #10 I would also check #16, if you look at the diagram there is a sensor that sends a signal to the CDI to tell it to fire the spark plug. Pull the connectors apart, check for corrosion. Clean with electric clean and grease with diaelectric grease before plugging back in. Mike

Is it getting spark? sometimes the plug will go bad and have spark outside the engine, but won't fire under pressure. Mike

I use regular 87 gas, during the riding season, every two or three tanks Ill add a dash of seafoam. Winter time, my girl does not ride at all, so then I add sta-bil for the winter in all our machines. Mike

Good to hear it was an easy fix. Schematic diagrams and service manuals are available for free if you need it in the future Mike

So far it looks like Textron isn't making any major changes to the Arctic Cat line. Mike

Being from the East, I would call that good snow cover Mike

I am not a Honda person but the only advice I can give is concerning bearings to avoid all-balls at all cost. They are cheap and do not last very long. Best bearings I use are made by Koyo, I don't know if they make the size for Honda. Mike

I did forget to add the phone charger, tow strap and flashlight. I am amazed at how many people I see riding that carry nothing. Mike

Air compressor, plug kit, valve stem kit, tow strap, Set of sockets and wrench. multi-tool, electrical tape, zip ties, spare fuses jumper cables (quad style, not automotive), spare spark plug. Thats what I carry, probably missed a few things. Mike

Nice video and a great "How-To" for others who want to install tracks. One comment, I noticed in the start of the video you have your machine suspended by the winch. This is not a good idea in case the winch brake gives out. I have had to use my winch to suspend my machine to work on it, but once winched, I use a few straps to hold it up and not rely on the winch to hold it up. Mike

Yeah social media has devastated forum and message boards. Im still old school and prefer forum boards. Social media tends to have too much B.S. on it, forum boards stay on topic. Mike

Yeah the ATV zone is gone now and other fourms like ATVingpa are pretty much dead. There is still some activity here. In general message boards are dying out in favor of social media. Mike

This was the fourth Arctic Cat I bought. I sold my 2007 machine last year. We kept her old 366 as a backup machine. The only other machine I had was a Kymco Mongoose 250 which was her first machine. Sold that and she found she liked a utility quad better. I was actually at the dealer buying parts to overhaul the 366 (shocks, bushings, bearings, etc.) and saw the Alterra. Last year Textron bought out Arctic Cat and the first thing they did was reduce pricing on all machines. I figured for $4500 why not buy new and see what Textron does with Arctic Cat, this way I don't have to buy anything for a few years. Turns out this is their new pricing, not a sale. For example, looking on my dealers site, you can get a 2018 Alterra 500 with EFI for $5000. The 2010 366 model has 9,500 miles on it, still running good, The 2007 400 I sold has 16,000 miles on it. Engine was rebuilt at 14,000 because I sunk it and water/mud got into the motor. The guy wanted it for the motor since it was rebuilt. The newer 700 VLX, he already sold out of the 2018 models. Or how about an Alterra 700 with EPS for $8500. The winch was extra, but I always have a winch on the machines. So far it looks like Textron is going to be a good thing for Arctic Cat. Mike

This past spring I picked up an Alterra 400 for my girl. She is not a fan of full size cats, and her prior machine was a 2010 366. The mid sized models do not have speedracks but I got a nice cargo bag for the rear for a good price. Couldn't beat buying a brand new machine with 4WD for $4500 Mike

I remember you from the ATV zone. You posted some nice videos from riding in Utah with tracks on your quad. Good to see you are still around Mike

I have seen silencers advertised and from what the specs say, reduce the noise output by quite a bit. Ive never had a need for one but my exhaust is stock so it isn't loud. Mike

I agree its the social networks. Many forum boards I am on are pretty much dead now. This one has more activity then others ones. I don't think its because of the popularity of the UTV's Social media sites are easy to share pictures and stuff compared to message boards. A lot of the stuff I do is not ATV related so I don't post it here. Mike
