Depending on how bad its fouled it might take a week or so to clear up. Better then ripping into it if you don't have to. On a different note, my SUV gauge crapped again so I dumped another bottle in and two days later, good again. Mike

This is a common problem and I also had it. Arctic Cat posted a bulletin about and one easy way to possibly fix it is to buy a bottle of Chevron's Techron additive and put about half of it in and the rest on the next tankful. It cleared my issue up for awhile. I also had a weird problem with my SUV suddenly only reading from half to full all the time. I dumped a bottle of the stuff in and it cleared it up in about 2 weeks. That was over a year ago and its been fine ever since. It seems to be sulfur deposits that gets on the sending unit fouling it up. Mike

2003 Arctic Cat 400 electric starter will not crank
mikeexplorer replied to Alan 's topic in Arctic Cat ATV Forum
I had this same situation. Everything is dead, no pod, lights, etc.. But I can pull start it or if I plug a jump box into the accessory plug, I can electric start it. Once running everything works except I noticed the headlamps flickered a bit. What it was in my case was a broken hot wire from the battery to the main 30amp fuse. What you need to do is a continuity test between the (+) terminal of the battery to your main fuse. (pull the fuse and check it) If this is the case, the repair is a pain, you have to yank the plastics off and start taking your harness apart. I found my wire broken since it rubbed against the frame. I re-routed it so I didn't have to splice a new wire in. Above, I posted a link where you can download the schematics for your machine. My quad is a 2007 400 but I would think the main lead is the same. Mike -
There should be a button on the left handlebar that is usually yellow and is the reverse override. When in reverse, the RPM's are limited unless you press this. There could be an issue with this. It does sound like something got in the gas since it happened after he filled it. That happened to me with my car right after a fill up, ran terrible and had to add gas stabilizer to clear it up. A good dose of Seafoam would help. Mike

New Member with 2009 Artic Cat 550 H1 TRV
mikeexplorer replied to oldriverharleyman's topic in Arctic Cat ATV Forum
Sounds like the battery went dead on you are it has a dead cell. After charging it you will know. It is not unusual for a battery to just go. I got lucky with mine as the pod would flash "volt" on it and it was slow cranking. I replaced it with an aftermarket battery and its been great ever since. Mike -
The engine is only 10cc smaller then mine and the quad is 100lbs lighter so I am sure it has a lot of pep to it. Plus its the H1 motor. Mike

2007 Arctic Cat 700 EFI FIS FUEL problem
mikeexplorer replied to southenmudman's topic in Arctic Cat ATV Forum
The fuel sender is fouled. I had the same problem on mine. Would be full then when i rode it would drop to empty. Techron can help the problem, I just ended up replacing the sender as it was just not accurate. Mike -

The “Improve ATV rider’s safety by repairing a HISTORIC 770’ long bridge!!” project is to keep ATV riders safe while crossing the bridge and for other users of the multi-use rail-trail to enjoy the beautiful breathtaking view of the countryside in northcentral PA. This project will provide a hand railing on the east side with chain link fence where none currently exists. The decking on the 100’+ tall bridge consists of railroad ties with some replacement needed. The ATV’s cross on a narrow band of expanded metal with a moderately safe handrail on the west side. This project will also preserve a critical trail link between Clearfield and Centre Counties. The Snow Shoe Rail Trail is one of the few trails that provide motorized opportunities in the region. The loss of this link would severely impact the usability of the trail and result in recreational and economic losses. Thank you for your support! Terry Terry L. The bridge isn't part of SSRT, but it is part of the abandoned railroad that SSRT uses. Just something I had to check out, I was expecting the bridge to be removed. I was surprised of its condition. Here are a few from Whiskey Springs.

New ride for the girl, Arctic Cat 366SE
mikeexplorer replied to mikeexplorer's topic in Arctic Cat ATV Forum
She did really good on the club ride at Whiskey Springs. This was her first club ride in over 2 years. Kept up and did over 40 miles on variable terrain. Defiantly taking her to SSRT for the BBQ event. The new quad improved her riding considerably. How is the arm coming along? Mike -
Bellows instead of vent lines
mikeexplorer replied to coupedehille's topic in General ATV Discussion
The new machine I picked up also has the bellows, so Arctic Cat must not think they are an issue. I inspect mine to see if they are ok, so far no issues. Mike -
2005 Artic Cat 500 cooling fan question
mikeexplorer replied to bones's topic in Arctic Cat ATV Forum
He is right, if you shut off the engine and then leave the key in the on position, the fan should still run until the temperature drops. Good possibility is some crud got in stopping the fan and blowing the fuse. Mike -
2000 Artic Cat 400 CDI problems
mikeexplorer replied to joshuacowart's topic in Arctic Cat ATV Forum
Since you mentioned the previous owner did his own wiring there is a possibility something wasn't done right or something shorted. I would test first to make sure your regulator didn't crap out and cause an over voltage condition. That could be why the CDI fried. In this forum, I posted a link for Arctic Cat service manuals. Now there isn't one for the 2000 model, the earliest year I see for the 400 is 2003. However, the 4th file down from the list is ALL the schematics for ALL Arctic Cat ATV's & Sleds from the year 2000-2009. It is a large file (about 438 megs) but it has the schematics you need. New ride for the girl, Arctic Cat 366SE
mikeexplorer replied to mikeexplorer's topic in Arctic Cat ATV Forum
The headlights do look a bit odd, kinda like bug eyes. But yes its the 2010 model of the 366 which has the H1 engine in it. Had a chance to ride last Saturday and she loves the new quad. Mike -

I added two trails that are both DCNR trails. -
Picked up a new ride for the girlfriend. She really likes the way this machine handles and can't wait to get out on the trails.

Here is a link where you can download a PDF copy of the service manual for most Arctic Cat ATV's Some of the files are large since it is the complete service manuals. Enjoy! Mike K&T Parts House Lawn Mower Parts and Chain Saw & Trimmer Parts

One reason for it to do what you describe is if the diff lock cable is out of adjustment. I had that happen on my quad and even if you do not select 4WD if the diff lock is turned on, it will kick in the 4WD. I can post the procedure from the service manual on how to adjust it. Mike

Its alright. Not as user friendly as the iPhone, but it does have features and capabilities that the iPhone doesn't have. Plus the camera is 5 MP. (and shoots video) One good feature is it allows tethering which AT&T was supposed to have last year. It just takes some time to get used to its features, most of the apps I had on the iPhone are available on the Eris. Still use the iPhone for podcasts but once I get the software set up right I won't need the iPhone anymore and I can sell it. Oh and the coverage is far better then AT&T and no more dropped calls or missed voicemails. Mike

I had the iPhone for 8 months and loved it, hated AT&T. Too many dropped calls and failed calls. Broke the contract and went back to Verizon. I now have the Driod Eris.
