  1. thanks guys ... it was a blast ... im still sore ...lol....i hope to have some pics soon ..
  2. me and the old kawasaki 650 prairie did good ... the winner im my class was on a can-am 1000 ... and he was crazy ... lol.. but the ol 650 did me proud ...
  3. have fun ... wet weather riding is a blast as long as traction in rough wooded terrain dosent bite u in the azz ...lol.. it has been pretty nice here for the last few days ... had a blast in a race on my 650 prairie yesterday but i feel it 2day ...lol.. have fun ..b safe ...
  4. well every one i ran the IXCR rock run race on sunday and got 2nd in the utility quad class ... i was 87th over all out of over 140 quads .. if you want to see the results you can get on there website .. home my #is 389 and my name ic chris krantz ... today i feel like i was ran over by a truck.. i had a blast doing the race but at 41 years old it was alot of work ...lol.. the corse was a little over 5 miles long and i did 5 laps .. thanks for reading my post and hope every 1 has a happy thanks giving ... click the link (home) and go to the IXCR site
  5. mornin all ... its 2:18 am here in INDIANA....lol:laugh:
  6. i would start by looking at the wires like the other guy said first ..then i would check all the wire plugs and clean them and make shure all the ground connections are clean and making a good connection... then i would replace the voltage regulator .. they are not 2 expensive ... and go from there .. the regulator is a usual cause of blowing fuses on that machine .. but i would check the other thing first b4 spending the $$$ on parts ..
  7. i know that my state (indiana ) required titles on atvs and dirtbikes from 1996 to current .. most new machines sold come with a certificate of origin and then you the buyer had to send the papers off t get the title ... alot of buyers didnt do that after they got there machines unless they had a loan on them then the bank or loan company required them to do so... in indiana you can get the atv registered with a bill of sale .. then you can file for a title for it and it costs about $50.00 to get it ..
  8. i work on alot of machines and have found crud in brand new carbs b4 .. that caused them not to work rite ...
  9. the screw on the underside is the drain for the carb ... they bught some really cheap carbs and used then on the first couple years of the 4strokes ...the best thing would be to take it off and clean it really good and then when u put it back on make shure it dosent have any leaking of air between the carb and motor ..
  10. i have several belt driven quads also and some times it feels hot on my legs .. but its usually from the motor heat transfering through the cover ... my Vtwin atvs are really bad about it ...i thught about putting a micro fan in the vent tube to help move more air and keep it cooler ... durring hot summer riding ...
  11. they made 3 different carbs for the older polaris machines .. 2 of them had airfuel mix screws and 1 did not .. if yours does not have it then you can adjust it some what with jets .. but if you can find a used carb that has the adjustment screw if yours dosent it would be alot easyer ... another thin that can be causing the prob if your machine is 2stroke is the reed valves might not be closing all the way and need replaced ... hope this helps ...
  12. you can also check several atv forum sites .. several of them have large for sale listings and i have bought several parts from a couple of the forum sites u can send me a message and ill give ya a site or 2 that have forsale listings ..
  13. another good vid from gunny ....lol.. he always gets the great angles and views ... also has all the kool toys ...lol...
  14. kool u got it in there (magazine) .... i have had 4 or 5 pics in magazines over the years ... but always like toget new 1's in them every chance i get ...lol..
  15. if its leaking gas even when the fuel valve is turned off then the valve is bad and needs replaced or repaired ... and the carb also needs cleaned and adjusted or rebuilt with a new float and needle valve .. i have had sever of the honda 250's and they tend to leak fuel from the carbs alot from dirt and bad floats ... as the original float was brass with lead seal.. that have a tendency to leak fuen inside them and cause the needel valve to open and over flow the carb ...
  16. if i could just get polaris to just replace the housing ( thats what really broke ) it would be great ... i would then put my gears in the new husing ... but get-n them to give any thing up is not gonna be easy ... they dont like to warantee any thing if they dont have to .. i guess its a big problem with polaris ..they dont like to warantee any big dollar parts ... its been sitting here now for 3 months ... the warantee ran out 12 days after it broke .. but i had it at the dealer (stealer) 10 days b4 the warantee was up.. so its a fight with them now... the front differential (used on ebay ) sells for $399.00 and up .. and at the dealer is $1400.00 ... im not even asking them to install it .. i will do that ..(about 4 hours work) .. just send me the parts .. wont buy another from the local polaris dealer again...
  17. wheel hop while in 4x4 is what im shure caused it ...i had a tree branch ..(kinda big) hooked to my 5000 lb wench on the front of it and was pulling backwards and it wheel hopped a couple times and that was the end of it ... and its still sitting here broke ... been fighting with polaris toget it replaced under warrantee ... but looks like im gonna get stuck with it ...
  18. well i know that the front differential on the polaris isint bullet proof ...lol.. i broke the front pinion shaft off on my sportsman X2 today ... so now im gonna have to spend more money now ...lol... i use this machine for working my landscape business and for trail riding some times also ... it is a very tough machine and i work it very hard .. didnt figure i would have to fix any gears on it yet though ... it only has 1465 miles on it as of now ... but i guess i was working it 2 hard ... lol.. so now its off to ebay .. and spending money ...lol:confused:
  19. well i have worked on the yammi the suzuki and the honda ... i have only seen 1 or 2 of the ktm's ..but i have heard a few good and bad about them also... the yammi has had alot of oil system problems over the years and they claim to have thoes fixed .. but they still have an oil system problem... the suzuki has had alot of suspension problems on there 450's but have gotten them all fixed in the last year or 2 ... and its not a bad machine ... the honda has had its bugs also but has been a very good machine as they usually build ... and repair costs on them are cheaper than the other 3 ... so i would have to say and go with the honda ....
  20. well ive been driving it for a while now and really like it ... it gets about 25 mpg on the highway as long as u r not running 80 mph ..lol.. it gets about 16 to 18 in town .. so im not driving it alot if im not going any distance ... if any 1 wants to trade it for a brute force ill swap ya ...lol..
  21. u got that rite ...hamm....lol
  22. you will need a pretty big fuse .. 50 to 60 amp .. i have duel breakers on my winch power wires and it has kicked them out 1 time on a very heavy load ... and they are both 60 amp auto reset breakers .. but i also have a 5000 lb winch an was pulling close to 3000 lbs ( tree stump across flat ground ) when they cut out .. but they reset pretty quickly .. if you can find a set or even a single breaker at napa then i would put that inline on the main power lead .. and then you can also put a fuse in the positive side for your rocker switch as a safe guard backup..
  23. welcome to QC... nice to have another hoosier rider join ...
