    It happens, that's why I mentioned that about a new battery going bad. I've seen it before. As for your starter, it sounds like the starter is not engaging and could be a bad solenoid if on the starter. When it does it, see if you can reach in and tap it with a hammer, and see if it engages. More than likely it will need replacement, unless you are able to get it rebuilt.

    So you filled the battery and let it sit for a bit, right? Did you make sure that all your connections are tight? It should still start, a 12v battery is a 12v battery. The sizes are the differences along with CCA. You could technically hook up your car battery and it should start your quad. It's possible that the new battery is bad, take it to a sears auto center , firestone, goodyear, or auto parts store and have them test it for you, just to be sure.

    Welcome to QUADCRAZY! What year is that Vinson? Have you checked your air filter to see if it is restricted? Did you make any fuel adjustments? Is your choke fully operational and not stuck?

    Welcome to the forums! Did you check the drive belt? Maybe it snapped. EDIT: I just read it again and you mentioned that it will not start. Did you actually do a compression test with a tester?

    That is odd, when you give it throttle, are the engine rpms increasing and it sounds like you have a whining tranny before it gets going? Like slippage? A worn belt would stretch, then maybe eventually break. * Added year and manufacturer to thread title.

    Just went to a hand surgeon to confirm the tennis elbow...he said you can get 3 cortizone shots then it's an operation. For now I'm nursing my arm, taking it easy. Plowed a bit with the quad today and it's bothering me.

    I tell you one thing, the last few snow storms, if I don' get the quad started on the first couple of times, it starts to click....gonna need a new battery soon! The cold weather is a battery killer.
