  1. best bet is ATV Parts, ATV Tires, Dirt Bike Parts, Motocross Gear, Motorcycle parts and Motorcycle Tires | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC or Motorcycle Parts, Riding Gear & Accessories | BikeBandit.com and look up your machine and go with OEM parts ....
  2. it would produce spark and run, but wouldnt enable charging, but i think that would be a rare case
  3. i had read on a few polaris forums that that is what it might be ... or stator ... regulator is much cheaper to try first
  4. test your regulator/rectifier ...
  5. probably stripped the threads as the housing is aluminum and the bolts are steel ... look closely at the bolt threads and try another bolt to make sure. heli-coil or tap a new bigger thread will fix it. not sure how much room you have to play with for a heli-coil.

  7. take the starter off and have a shop do a load test. that will determine if it is garbage or not ... could be a bad stator or cdi, stator makes the spark, cdi tells it when to spark. if you have a buddy that owns the same machine, switch out the cdis and see if it makes a difference. if you need a new cdi, get it off of ebay at a fraction of the dealers price ...
  8. the carb probably has dirt in it, i would take off the carb, take it apart and clean it, taking out the jets and making sure everything is clear of debris ...

  11. with a sxrewdriver, try crossing the two posts with it, it will spark, but if it turns over, it is the solenoid. you could try to clean the connections there with sandpaper and add some dielectric grease to keep the connection clean, or vaseline (petroleum based)
  12. yes, and maybe that is why you are losing power/compression ...
  13. if it was an aftermarket stator, i had to switch the two wires coming out of the cover (i think from the pick up coil) to a connector ... i had no spark before i switched them ...
  14. how about the solenoid ? there should be nothing getting past the second pole with the key turned off ...
  15. hello and welcome !! have fun !!

  20. dirty carb, probably needs a rebuild kit or you can try spraying carb clean in it and/or add some "sea foam" gas treatment in the tank ...
  21. a quick fix is rocking it back and forth and try to get it to shift, but i think you might have a bent shift fork though ... hard to say
  22. i thought i saw a similar post like this ... i would try cleaning the contacts in the starter button (should come apart) and go from there, i will try and hunt down the other post in the mean time ...
  23. i think with the patience i possess, i might just look around for a good used wiring harness ...
