Lift Kit & Wheel Spacers? 1996 Kawasaki Bayou 300 4x4

the highlifter lift kit is a good lift. but with the plow on you wont really see a difference. these lift kits just relocate the springs by pushing them further out and downward. The front shafts will be your main problem. between breaking at the upper or lower joint, or just popping out of the front differential. problems will occur. the rear you will no have to worry about being that it is a solid rear axle. Wheel spacer are a good idea when lifting an atv The recommended sizes might be a little to big but i can't give you a right answer on that. From what you have said your front spring are sagging really badly. Being that it is a 96' it has a few miles on it. The front springs are worn down, they are also very small springs to begin with. So what i have done was either: A.) buy highlifter springs for my atv. one pair adds an extra 50lbs of loading capacity. very stiff springs and i really like them. But from what i checked i dont think they sell them for your machine. B.) I did this for my can-am and my polaris.(I replaced the old stock springs with NEW stock springs) -Get 2 hockey pucks(For the left and right front springs) -Take the springs off the atv. -Remove the springs off the shock. -Then drill a whole through the hockey puck so it can slide on to the shock. -Put the spring back on the shock install onto the atv. -Presto your shocks are compressed more and you will have a lot less sagging. On the front end of your atv. -

***UPDATE*** got the engine out of the polaris and got the rear swing arm bearings replaced front boot installed, chain installed, put new engine mounts in... hopefully rebuilding the motor:realmad: is the last thing i need to do on this frigging thing. But was able to get some new/used parts off of ebay and craigslist, new clutch cover, a-arms, and a k&n air filter save me a great deal of money:yes:.... here are some pictures...with the motor out i got real into the cleaning... BY THE WAY, ARE THERE ANY CHEMICALS I CAN USE TO CLEAN UP THE ENGINE A LITTLE BIT. I USED ENGINE DE GREASER, BUT SEEMS LIKE IT IS STAINED WITH DIRT...IF NOT HOW MUCH WOULD IT COST TO GET THE MOTOR BEAD BLASTED?? DIRTY MOTOR -
Happy thanksgiving everyone....

Happy birthday admin!!!! -
Well some ideas i have are: your rpms are set to high on ur carb the motor is working to fast at idle causing the gears in the tranny to move fast...and when you try putting it into gear your fork inside the transmission is having trouble grabbing the gears....The second idea is that you shift linkage needs adjusting its a simple fix...Third idea is that the fork used to select high gear is worn down really badly so it will not grab the gears as easy as it should...if i remember correctly there are to forks inside the transmission, one for reverse and high gear and one for low gear...so possibly the high gear and reverse gear fork needs to be replace... Have you changed your transmission oil? were there metal shavings in it?
