  1. You are welcome, we are glad to help. One questiont though, you say you drained the float? If it was full of fuel, did you patch up the hole that was letting fuel in? If not the float could just fill up with fuel again.
  2. I would send a PM to Admin, one of the site's adminitrators.
  3. Couldn't pass it up for the price, anyone in western WA should be aware of the closeout room at Renton Motorcycle Store (RMC). There are always good buys in there.
  4. Found another gem in the closout section and a local bike shop. A Yoshimura bumper for an LTZ 400. It doesn't fit exactly on my LT-R, the bottom fits, but I will need to use some spacers and longer bolts on the top. Still a steal for $40 brand new in the box. Looks a little nicer than the homemade bumper that I put on after smashing the stocker into someones RM 250.
  5. Good luck finding a link, but I would recommend just buying one so you can have the book in hand while you work on the machine. Everyone wants a free link to a PDF download, but nobody wants to spend the $25 or $30 for a Clymer or Chilton, let alone pay $80 for a factory manual. If everybody gets them for free, then there will be no incentive for people to make manuals for us to use. They are well worth the money, so I don't get why people don't want to pay for them. $80 for a factory manual is way better than paying a tech $80-90 per hour to fix your machine using the same exact manual that you can buy yourself. I hope you can find a way to fix your problem that meets your needs, good luck.
  6. Uuugghhh! What a night, I ended up bouncing at a local bar for some extra cash, and so my wife could drink for free. So much harder to deal with drunk idiots when you have to stay sober. Hope everyones 2011 is a good one.
  7. I.C.E. comes through here once a year, I was going to race my 500R this year, but the event came and went and I completely forgot about it. I really wanted to do that too, it was only $50 to enter and that inluded studs to screw into your tires. I have a sway bar, front lowering brackets, and an adjusable rear link for it. The guy that I bought the project from was a flattracker, so I got all that stuff with the quad and have never used it.
  8. I agree, all solid ideas there Mike.
  9. You said it, not me.
  10. Wrong spark plug maybe, could be sticking out too far. Where did you get the head, it could have been shaved, if it was taken too far down, you would lose the necessary clearance needed for the piston to travel up without interference. It would also raise the compression, possibly to a level that would require race fuel or a mix of pump gas and race fuel. I would definately take the head off and take a look, if the piston hit the plug, it is likely that the piston is damaged. Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Let us know what you find.
  11. Nice of you to offer the welcome Bio-ware, I am just wondering if you noticed that starting this thread was the only post that this member has made, and it was made over 7 months ago. Good chance he isn't coming back. Not trying to be rude, I just don't want to see you wasting your time responding to dead threads, we have new threads and posts everyday that are a much higher priority.
  12. That is absolutely awesome, by far the best side x side ever. I would definately buy one of those if I could.
  13. Any time man, Good luck.
  14. It is like that on all ATVs. I would think that you should still get spark, as long as the crack is not on the part of the flywheel that triggers the pulsar coil. However, it should be replaced because the cracked flywheel could turn into a broken flywheel, and that could cause alot of damage. So I would definately start with that. If you still have problems, try to find the specs for direct resistance testing on the ignition components.
  15. What year is your Grizzly? If you are still having trouble try these things as well. Pull the plug boot off of the coil wire, make sure there is good clean wire at the end, if not, then clip a little bit of insulation off, about 1/8th inch at a time until you find good fresh wire. Next, check the pulsar coil, take a multimeter, set it to ohms, and test across the leads, you should get a reading somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 ohms. Also, is this coil you are using off of the same type of quad, or is it off of a different kind of machine?
  16. I think the pulsar coil is supposed to read around 200 ohms, so I think you may have it nailed.
  17. I see you read my response before I changed it having noticed that you had posted that you fixed it while I was away and hadn't finnished my response. I too have read through some other forums and read mixed results. I would stick with what you got untill you run into a problem or can get some better info. At $85 per hour, you would be better off spending $125 on a higher output unit from Ricky Stator. Come to think of it, you may just want to call them for info, they will probably be able to tell you what your factory stator puts out. It is there business to know the needs of the machines they are making aftermarket products for.
  18. That will happen when you are resonding too every post in the forum even if it is several months or a year old. This Bioware fella is working overtime, someone should be paying him. 131 posts in 30 days, a little better than 10 a day. Not too shabby. What's better, is that I haven't been the only one responding to alot of these threads anymore. Which is especially good since I have been busy getting things ready for a new job which may have me away from the forum for days at a time, so I have not been on as much as I would like lately. It is nice to see that you guys are keeping up on things, so I don't have to feel so bad about not being here as much. I have also noticed that Ajmboy's post count has picked up considerably as well.
  19. If Polaris says it is 70 watts then it is probably 70 watts. I would not go any higher than that, 2 - 12 watt bulbs is drawing 24 watts, which is over 1/3 of the total stator output. If you want to go brighter, I would contact Polaris, or an authourized repair tech and ask them what the maximum draw you can put on it is. If you want more light, you may have to get an aftermarket stator, Ricky Stator makes an excellent product at an affordable price.
  20. MikeERideWNC "As heavy as the 60" plow blade is, I need a 2000 pound wench to move it around the garage to the ATV." LOL, that was good.
  21. Oil seal on your water pump. That hole is there so you can tell if you have lost the seal on your water pump impeller shaft. The weep hole is sealed off from the water side, and from the oil side where the pump is driven from. Most of the time you will see the water side fail first and water will come out of that hole. But sometimes the oil seal fails and you see oil come out of the weep hole. Behind the impeller, you will see a mechanical seal first, then an oil seal. I would replcace them both. Inspect everything else for excessive wear as well.
  22. IMO, you are taking the head off regardless, if you are going to go that far, you might as well just replace everything you can, inside of your budget. Piston and/or rings, a fresh bore or hone, even if it isn't totally necessary. I would aslo check the head and see if a vavle grind or guide replacement will be needed soon, if so...?
  23. Very nice, congrats on the sponsor bro.
  24. Original poster did not say weather he was seeing it in the daylight or if it was dark. I would agree, if you could see the glow in the daylight, I would say there was a problem. I guess I just assumed he was seeing this in the dark. My '04 TRX 450 didn't glow, but my friends '08 did when it was stock. He has done a few things and keeps it jetted just a bit on the rich side. Haven't noticed it since.
