    i would tip it on its side up against a wall and kinda 'dry fit' the harness with some rope or light gauge wire holding it close to where it should be and see if the bolt holes are close or brackets can be attached or if you can jigger something up with some other type of brackets ... probably the frame did change some after 10 years ... OR you might be able to buy just a new harness for that year if its really off ...

    just check your oil stick not threaded in, you'll see how much over you are ....

    check your kawi dealer, maybe the 650's and 750's have the same air filter. k&n has them for those machines. they might also have an up to date listing for your bike too ...

    the carb could need a cleaning, or adjusting (float) and check all your vent lines, especially from the crankcase. most quads will smoke for a couple seconds at startup, not a big cloud, but just a puff or two ...this is the big bear moto 4 ?
