here are some suggestions .... "Honda Red" paint

i would try cleaning the carb and putting a rebuild kit in or use some seaform in a few heavier than normal doses and see if it clears, you may have to adjust afterwards ... check to see if the throttle cable might be pulled or not in the proper location along the tank ...

2003 Yamaha Wolverine - MPH Question
oxidized_black replied to YamahaWolverine's topic in General ATV Discussion
if the bike runs good as it sits now, i would dump seafoam every other or so tank to keep the carb clear ... yes, check/change your fluids for sure, timing and valves, a quick compression check can tell you if rings are worn or wearing ,,, -
2003 Yamaha Wolverine - MPH Question
oxidized_black replied to YamahaWolverine's topic in General ATV Discussion
i have heard guys say they will do 5?, but i think alot of conditions need to apply. the bike is near 500lbs wet, add a 150 - 180lb rider, thats alot for a 350 to push fast especially in 4X4 ... not saying its not true ... if you want up to top speeds, check the compression, make sure valve are in sync, and carb is good and clear ... i would say a step up in carb jets, a k&n filter or equivalent, and a aftermarket muffler would have you in high 50s ... i know the 350 motor is the same as the big bear except for the top end, i might be scared going over 50 on the bear, i havent clocked it yet, but i would say it goes maybe 40 - 45 ... there is a governor on the throttle too, you can fiddle with that to see if the speed increases ... -
2003 Yamaha Wolverine - MPH Question
oxidized_black replied to YamahaWolverine's topic in General ATV Discussion
Hello and welcome !! Is this bike full time 4WD? Stock 23" tires? Make sure the valves are adjusted in spec, nice clean carb & filter, clear muffler ... I was thinking more of 45 - low 50s ... -

not sayin its a 100 percent fix, but i have seen this before on the suzuki forums ...
-
try unhooking the battery or cdi box overnight and it may fix it ???
-
unless the system needs to be reset (heard if unplug battery give or take 24 hrs) you may need a new battery if yours isnt up to snuff ... put a volt meter on it and if you have less than 12 volts, you may need a new one ... wonderful electronics eh?
-
alot of guys say no to it, im wondering if you dont take it over 20mph and just putt around if you would be good ... myself, i would try it but not go nuts with them in, and if you get a flat on the trail, youre hooped ...
