hey who like the 250r two strokes
DirtDemon replied to tyler250rrocks's topic in General ATV Discussion
I assume you are talking about the TRX 250R, IMO, the 250R is still one of the best machines ever produced. The handling is excellent, even by todays standards and there is a ton of aftermarket for it. If they offered a new modern version of the TRX 250R, with updated suspension, I would one over any 450 anyday. I would take an updated version of any 2-stroke sport quad, old Quadracers, Tecate 4, or a Banshee, over any 4-stroke sport quad. 2-strokes are cheaper and easier to maintain, modify and repair. No valves to constantly check, no cams, or timing chain to mess with. -
Check your tie rods, make sure they are straight. Some machines may have a slight toe-in from the factory, but it shouldn't be too drastic. A dealer tech may be able to give you specs on the front wheel alignment. If you can find a repair manual, buy one, it will be your best friend when it comes to working on your machine.

The oil capacity should be stamped on the case close to the filler hole, it should be in ml. Not sure, but the front diff may have a number stamped on it too, but I doubt it. The filler hole may be on the side in a horizontal position, if this is the case, just fill it up to the bottom of that filler hole. You could always get that info from a dealer tech or from someone at the parts counter.

I would take it back the that Yamaha dealer and give them a piece of your mind. They should be the ones fixing thier mistakes not you. Anyway, does it die as soon as you put it in gear, or only when you throttle it? Could be a fuel delivery problem, try setting the petcock to prime, and see if that makes any difference. Also check for air leaks by spraying some carb cleaner around the intake boot and cylinder to see if it is sucking air anywhere.

There should be a number stamped on the motor somewhere, probably on the cylinder, it will indicate the displacement of the motor in cc. -

Yes, a problem with the CDI is possible, I would try to eliminate the most simple things first. Check the plug boot and coil wire, unscrew the boot from the wire and make sure there is a good wire at the end of the coil wire for the boot screw to contact with. Other possibilities could be the coil, pickup coil, or bad wiring or a bad ground somewhere. Also, look at your spark plug, what does it look like? -
The wheels and tires definately make it look better IMO, probably handles a little better too, I hate balloon type tires. I'm gonnal need one of those shifters for my recliner trike, where did you get it?

Nice. That's good. -
So, how do those Walker Evans shocks work, they had to have helped out on all those logs and stuff.

The sand rail belonging to the guy camped across from our cabin. It has a stroked LS-2 making 634hp, this thing was bad as*. Unfortunately, we did not have a camera when we saw him out on the sand.

The guy who decided it was a good idea to go out and climb Banshee hill in a Ford Ranger after partying all night and the three rigs that it took to pull his as* out.

Coors Cove, the view from there and one of the hill leading up from there, wish I had a helmet cam so I could have shown you the rest of that hill, it was pretty sweet. I made it my friend did not.

A few from and of the dunes. The last one is the only pic of us actually riding, and since my friend Brandon is not a good photographer and never uses the zoom funtion when he takes pics. I am the small spec with a small roost of sand behind me, one of the guys just under me had just rolled his quad down that hill trying to climb up behind me. I made it, he didn't go fast enough.

These were taken in the cabin we rented.

Last Wednesday, a co-worker of mine was murdered in a home invasion robbery. Three of the four suspects have been taken into custody, but one turd is still at large. His name is Clabon Terrel Berniard. Here is a photo of him. I know it is a longshot, but if anyone sees this jackass, call the cops ASAP, or maybe run him over with your car or skin him with a potato peeler, I don't care as long as he is stopped. These scum are a disgrace to the human race, and should be exterminated. I am also posting a link to the story if anyone cares to read it. 3 arrested in Craigslist home invasion murder | KTVB.COM | KTVB.COM | Regional news | Oregon news, Washington news, Utah news

97 Explorer 4x4 intermittenly doesn't work
DirtDemon replied to mikewilliams's topic in Polaris ATV Forum
Anything that only works when the machine is in 4wd could be suspect. I would look for ANY loose connections, plugs, or other connectors, bare or damaged wires. Unfortunately tracking these kinds of problems is sometimes time consuming and frustrating. A multimeter will most likely be helpful. -

Yes, the cam and probably rocker shaft access should be behind the timing gear. If you put marks on the chain and sprocket before you take it apart, you can line them back up when you put it back together. You need to be sure to not let the chain come off of the crank, or make marks on the chain and sprocket down there for reference when you put it back together.
