I'm sure someone on here with a 400 Honda will be able to better answer this for you. It's Mother's day, so maybe they are not on. I now Stoobitbot has a 400 and he's a supermod here.

I removed my carbs on multiple machines without removing the gas tanks, but I don't know on yours.. I'm not sure what tube is sticking up, but maybe it 's the carb overflow tube and should be facing down.

Exactly...zero compression is an issue...may need a new engine. * Added issue into thread title.

Welcome to QUADCRAZY! I think you have an intermittent fuel starvation. It may be yoru float in your carb that is not leveling off allowing the float boal to fill up. You may be due for a carb overhaul. * Added manufacturer to thread title.

Welcome to QUADCRAZY! What year, make, and model is your atv? Acronym for "capacitive discharge Ignition" device sometimes controlled by a computer . It is designed to help the spark plug fire at a rate consistent with the rpms of the engine.
