1. Values? Maybe new values or they need adjusted? I dont know. Maybe run compression too.
2. The bed of our old rusted and crapped out old chevy. Why? Cuz that is all i got to haul my bikes and it works just fine. Im never goin far so.
3. This sounds dumb but. Is your chain on?
4. Before anything a carb cleaning isnt a bad idea. Get down and deep in all the jets. Completely take every thing out and spray it off. Then see what happens from there. If you dont know about carbs just search how to clean your bikes carb on youtube
5. Im looking to get a new quad. Ive been looking and came across the yamaha wolverine. Are the 2005 and older models good atvs? Are the engines strong? Does they break down a lot? Now before you answer i dont want the yamaha brand haters to come out and say "NO!! Yamaha is just a pos!" I want people that have riden the bikes or know people who have owned the bikes or have owned the bikes.
6. Well today i was working and seeing if i could get my suzuki 160 running. I took the plug out to clean it or see if it needed cleaned. It was covered in oil. Black thick oil. If i heated it up i might of been able to get a drip off of it...(it is like 35 degrees right now). It also clanks when i crank it. The clank is always in the same spot. It never it in a different place. It will turn over but work fire up and idler. It was idling but now it wont. Could i have bad rings or compression. Maybe a head gasket. The top end has a layer of oily filth on it. Is having to retighten the chain every few rides normal either? It seems like the chain is always lose.
7. You might have oil going over the seal. That happened to me. Every time i would jump i would have crazy smoke. But it wouldn't ever smoke any other time. Will it smoke just randomly or is it consistent at all.
8. Well it isnt starting now. It cranks but doesnt start. So it it clanking on the crank. It hasnt ever done that been
9. So i cleaned the carb after the throttle getting stuck out and having to kill the fourwheeler. I cleaned the carb and reinstalled it. So they i did get it to start up but the idle was freakin high so i killed it and it started three more times. Then a few days later i pulled it out and was gonna tune it. I got it to start a few times but then i noticed i was adjusting the mix not the idle(i figured that out when it back fired and the idle didnt change...). So i went to fire it back up aannddd dead as a dog. So today-which is a little colder-i went to start it. I pulled the chock out and now it clanks? It almost sound like if the piston is slapping into the head? I dont know but it definitely sounds like to pieces of metal hitting. I dont think it has ever done this before. I am positive the mix is correct. What could be wrong. Thanks
10. I cleaned my carb on my 160 1991 and then was using it for some mud. And when ever i would go full throttle it would jam open. I would have to kill it then push the arm of the throttle cable back into the carb. I would then be back in business. But i had it happen one more last time. I killed and was gonna try to push the cable back in but it was jammed. I took the carb apart and had to use a freakin screw drive to push the the needle out. The cable also got stretched some how so i cut the end off, took a bolt of the same size, cut the end off and used that as a new end for the cable. I kept is on by wrapping a wire around the cable and then soldering it. The shaft/sleeve thingy was full of dirt and mud so i sprayed carb cleaner in there and clean the sleeve and needle clean. I reinstalled the carb and everything and now the needle will not move...why wont it move??
11. Already did a new plug. But it fires right back up even if it only ran 5 -10 seconds
12. My friend was having the same problem but on a honda rancher. This fix what his throttle cable wasnt adjusted in the right place and that made it too short. It might be a way different problem but it might fix it. He could turn the bars and the throttle would change. But it he used the throttle it would kill it
13. This isnt the air filter because it takes just as long with the air filter off. Also it starts just fine when hot. The choke is not on.
14. Well today i was going to mow our yard and we have a pretty big so we have a riding mower. I have my quad parked in front of it so i figured why not just start it up to charge the battery and just to have it run becuz i havent run it in a week or so. I sat there cranking it for five minutes. When it starte to even sound like it was gonna start it would still die. I had the almost starts for about a minute. It this a carb problem or what is this. Im almost positive it doesnt have a fuel filter(no of the suzuki 160s do). Does that mean there might be crap in the tank?
15. I was having a bad idle and i found the culprit. I dont but to my eyes i think that needs cleaned. How should i clean it. I read to use dish soap or landuary detergent. I have also read to use a five gallon full of water and soap but or just enough water with soap to submerge the filter. So how should i clean my air filter
16. I am looking to get a welder and mig seems to have to vote when it is for a beginner. I am just going to use this for simple task so not everything goes to the scrap yard. Also what are the pros and cons of mig welding. Is mig welding the easiest welding to learn? Thanks
17. I have a suzuki 160 1991 and when i am on slope it knocks but. It has to be in gear, has to be on a slope, and only happens around 1/3 or 1/2 throttle. Would that be in the tranny or the engine.
18. Now the pull start wont work? That throws a curve ball. It may be partly electrical but not fully. Last time you shut if off did it die or did you personal shut it off
19. I dont know if it is the stud. It might be i havent taken it of yet. The leak has stopped so I am not to concerned.
20. Humm. This is the part where i get confused. It is a stud. And the nut goes onto it. Then the stud does into the case. However when i was looking up pictures of the oil door? For the filter i saw some that were with nuts and some that were with bolts. So that makes me think The the stud screws into the case.
21. Does it still start with the pull? That doesnt seam right. However how old is your battery. The voltage doesnt always matter. My battery would charge but i couldnt get it to start the solenoid would just click. I got a new battery and it fired right up. If your battery is old you might need a new one. I know that is pretty obvious but there are some simple things you dont think of
22. I dont know how helpful this but this is what it is. Then those three nuts screw onto three threaded bolts almost protruding from the case.
23. Thats not how it is sent up. It is a nut the screws onto what is like a bolt coming out of the casing. It isnt a bolt that screws in to the casing.
