Best Size Utility ATV For Taller Riders?
oxidized_black replied to MadMan's topic in General ATV Discussion
you are probably best off going to the different dealers and getting in the saddle ... i agree, the 350s are small, im 6 foot and it feels tiny next to my 660 grizz ... and like you, i lose the grizz to my wife because of the automatic, and i end up looking like a circus clown -
i think a lot of it is preference over the different brands. i grew up where Honda was like the one and only name to have really ... there was Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki, but they were in their infantcy and not really proven yet, so Honda held at #1. now, all the brands i would say are equal with reliabilty and quality, but it wasnt always like that. a few brands got a bad name early on, and as a result, had that attitude embedded in a lot of people. i always liked Suzuki dirt bikes, RM 125 or 250s, i think they were one of the craziest dirt bikes out there, i always liked kawasaki street bikes .. any and all. Polaris, Arctic Cat and Bombardier (Can Am) were the best snowmobiles in my era, and i think a lot of people were hesitant about a ski doo maker getting into the atv scene ... Polaris and Arctic Cat had problems early on, but rectified them and i have to commend BRP for hanging on so long to get introduced into the atv world, they came in solid in every way IMO. if i was to purchase a new bike today, i think i would choose as my top 3 as 1st- Can Am, 2nd - Yamaha/Honda and 3rd - Kawasaki. but this is just me, someone else would have the other brands at the top, and my picks at the bottom. everyone is different. i think price and application will play a big role ... an independent suspension bike would not be as good as a solid axle rear diff as a workhorse, IMO. and on the flipside, a solid axle bike for touring would be a bad choice, again, IMO ...

i think there are 5 slots on the needle, stay in the middle (3rd), thats probably where it is now. the overflowing will be the result of a dirty needle and seat at the float ... if you think the needle and seat are good, check the tang tab on the float, it may need to be bent abit to close off the fuel. there should be a measurement in the carb section for float height in your manual ...

so it doesnt turn over? i would suspect a broken timing chain or cam maybe ... hopefully not a broken rod, hard to say until you tear into it ,,, something is binding inside ... -

2008 Yamaha Wolverine 350 - Wheel Play
oxidized_black replied to Rjthrasher's topic in Yamaha ATV Forum
i would try a thicker washer, but remember the cotter pin that needs to go through. i would suspect that part #6 is not seating properly or is worn and sloppy maybe. -

2008 Yamaha Wolverine 350 - Wheel Play
oxidized_black replied to Rjthrasher's topic in Yamaha ATV Forum
the nut that threads on the spindle, should be a castle nut, the spindle should have a small hole all the way through it, and should have a cotter pin that doesnt allow it to back out .... -

does it wobble in the steering or is the steering tight and the wheel wobbles by itself?
