  1. The heatgun method is more forgiving...mot much more. Then hit the plastic with some plastic polish.
  2. Did you change out the gas? might be skunk gas in the tank. Also the carb might need a good cleaning
  3. first guess would be a chain adjustment, then would be the bearings are shot in the rear carrier
  4. I guess when two prostitutes say "anything goes" they didnt realize it meant helping to push a motorcycle lol
  5. Not sure if this is remotely related to your problem but a friend of mine has a honda 250r and his midrange running problem was cured by a dial-a-jet. His is also modded with a big bore kit so it might be that his carb was not jetted correctly to begin with.
  6. If this is the lt250r its a 2 smoke. If its not then Im just real tired lol
  7. I am not a carb guy (hate em) but will try and help. Cant vouch for anyone else here but I am a welder and work 70+ hours a week. Im quite tired when I get home. Most of the time I just dont feel like typing. Alot of carb problems are already posted with answers (not always on here but other forums) and not saying yours os a common problem but with some research the answers are out there. So lets start from the beginning Any mods done to the quad? Did you verify that the jets were correct and the needle was in the correct position? If you dont already I would check the shop manual thread and d/l one. If this is a stock bike I would make sure the carb was put back to factory spec. Yes you need the brass piece on the diaphram and I would wait till those o rings are replaced. Are you 100 percent sure its a carb problem and not an ignition/carb issue when you hit the 3-4k area. I would def wait till you have the carb back together with all new gaskets, orings etc. before you keep trying to diagnose this peoblem and drive you batty Good night
  8. and then you can enjoy spring riding without the spring cleanup
  9. Its actually helping you by combining spring cleaning and quads.
  10. Im in...has to be a quicker way to get a vote in
  11. When my 400ex motor was sent out to ....that guy... I used my friends Yamaha Grizzly 4x4. I was used to a clutch and it screwed me up a few times as everytime I would try to "pull in the clutch" I would slow down..... as I was pulling in the hand brake!
  12. Lol Ive done something similar. Quad kept pulling slightly to the right, Must be a suspension part out of wack i said!! Turns out after taking the front apart i just had low air in my tire .....woops... I needed a vacation.
  13. Im also glad that this site calls atvs "quads"!
  14. d/l an owners manual and read up on the factory procedure. A leakdown test would give you a more accurate story about your internals. It will tell you weather its a piston ring or valves. 155 doesnt sound low to me but Im going by what passenger cars read. In a nutshell you would need to remove the cams and head and inspect valves. if ok then remove the cylinder and inspect the piston/rings.
