  3. that sucks !! you would think changing the air filter should be as easy as checking your oil ... i have 8 snap clips holding my lid on and i'm in and out in less than 3 minutes ...

  5. it doesn't connect to anything. it's just sitting under the gas tank, it's just free flow and then it goes thru the air filer

  7. you don't need lube on the rings, with the bowl off the carb, tip the carb upside down and measure from the meeting surface of bowl to top of float. there is a little metal tab that is connected to the needle and should be around 1/2 an inch ...

  13. hope this can help you out ,,, the gear oil goes in the front differential, there should be a bolt head visable on top or slightly down from top. usually you fill that to the bottom thread ...

  15. i would say yes to new pads for the rear and everything should get better with adjustments. the front brakes on these are useless IMO. i wish they went to disc like the rear. there isn't a conversion kit available as with the hondas. too bad on that ... i would heat the lever up before i tried to bend it back. you have a 50 50 chance of it coming out good or breaking ...

  21. you will only risk the clutch, but it really shouldn't do damage, it just won't help it ... that's just if you're putting around and not working it hard ...
  22. here's what my '91 looks like with the gas tank and seat removed .... both of these cables join in a junction box and a single cable goes back to the throttle lever ...
  23. on my 91, sitting on the bike, it is on the left hand side, on top of the tranny, about a foot behind your heel on the footpegs. i had trouble with mine too, a bad connection or broken wire, can't remember now ...
  24. the small twist ties for garbage bags stripped work great getting into the smaller passages. if you have an air compressor, that is a big bonus to get everything blown out. you'll be fine with a new carb kit, you'll find where everything goes. look at the specs for you float height when you get ready to install. if you run into any problems, cheriah is THE carb queen of QC !! pm her and she will help you out and talk you thru it. here's a good read in the meantime ... http://www.quadcrazy.com/atvforum/general-atv-discussion/11153-carb-crash-course.html
