  1. well ive had good luck with the kawasakis... I do know that there has been some issues with the water in the air box but that is an easy fix with a short snorkel ...as for electrical issues on them ive not ran into any as of yet .. but have heard of some ...oil leaks will happen with both machines ...just the nature of small motors that run hot ... I also know that the Honda will cost a lot to have fixed if you ever have tranny issues ..its a good machine but will break the bank if it ever needs to have any repairs done that the average atv guy dosent do or don't know how to do it ... as far as power and torque ..the Kawasaki wins that hand down.. I have owned several kawasakis and currently have 2 V-twinn machines .. I have also owned several Honda 4x4 atvs and they are good machines also.. just never had any good luck with Hondas electric shift system.. butt any way if it was me buying another 4x4 atv I would buy the Kawasaki .. but I wouldent buy eather 1 if they are hi miles and hi hour machines... hope this helps ...
  2. :biggrin:well here is my truck to add to the collection... its a 1995 dodge ram 3500 6x6 that has been cut and stretched 40 inches and made into a crew cab .. dodge did not offer a crew cab in 1995 .. it has the 5.9 cummins 12 valve motor with the ATS auto trans it also has the dhd transfer case and 3.54 gears:yes:
  3. cool vid..looks and sounds like a pain in the rear..lol.. but those trax are sweet..
  4. it still sounds like an air/fuel issue ... like its not getting enough ... im not shure ware or what adjustments are on that carb .. but they prolly need adjusted.. or there is something still in the carb .. or blocking the fuel line ..
  5. sounds like ya got it all covered ..lol.. with the newer fuel and all the extra things they have to do to it to cut down on emissions it will start to go bad in as little as 30 days ... especially in small amounts like in out atv tanks .. I always put a fuel stabilizer in mine so that I don't have to remove and clean/rebuild 2 carbs .. its cheap insurance on a good running quad even after sitting for months at a time ...
  6. WELCOME TO THE CRAZY SITE ..LOL...... when ya go through an look at mechanic questions . look at the date it was posted ..as a lot of the questions are real old ... an no 1 will usually reply an usually that member isint even on any more or just became a member to ask that question.. ...
  7. lol.. its all good .. im a certified motorcycle mechanic and have a lot of experience working on mostly atvs ..
  8. If there is gas in the rocker box area u will need to change the oil asap b4 you run the motor much
  9. It's most likely still having some carb/fuel issues from sitting for so long I would keep running it and use the best fuel u can get at the pump in it And might also use a little fuel system cleaner additive in your fuel .. If you still have issues after several tanks of fuel u will prolly need to Clean the carb out again ... Carbs are hard to clean and get every thing out of Good luck an hope this helps ..
  10. You are most likely having an injector issue.. It's prolly dirty and wil need cleaned out with injector cleaner .. If not it's your throttle position sensor that's bad .. Hope this helps
  11. A company called Lifan makes alot of replacement motors I have bought them on eBay an had good luck with them Not shure on the style of motor you have but they have Several styles that should fit..
  12. MorNing y'all ... It's a frosty 20 degs here an off for a club ride
  13. like OX said that is a good start.. and is usually the main causes ...
  14. welcome to the crazy crew ... hope u get it go-n soon..
  15. if you can get to a machine shop and take some of the extra weight off of the flywheel it will lighten the rotating assembly and make it rev faster an increase the power output .. I have built and raced mor 400ex"s that I can count on my fingers an toes .lol.. ill have to go through some of my mod sheets ..an can see if there are any more ..lol.. but the weight removal is a big performance gain..
  16. well its morning some ware ..lol.. but any way its evening here ...lol..
  17. It's a common issue with the v-twinn ... But it can be fixed if you know what you Are doing ... Or if you take it to some one that knows what they are doing... It's usually a combination of carbs out of sync adjustment ... And a leak in a vacuum Line or intake sucking air... When you had the carbs rebuilt they may of not got the lines on rite or the are not sealing The carbs also have to be in sync and drawing the same or it will also cause it to pop like that If it was me I would find a mechanic that knows what they are doing on the v-twinn
