  3. worn valve train would give you white smoke in exhaust, you have spark so the stator is doing its job. i would do the most economical fixes first, possibly a new coil or look at condition of plug wire and a new plug. i would reclean the carb again if a new plug or coil didnt fix it ... i know you said its perfect, but i did a carb clean too and did it a dozen times because i thought this time was perfect ... i think youre ok with 10% leak down, but youre getting close to a ring job ... jump in guys with some tips !!

  11. Good info and nice pic !!
  12. it almost sounds like a bad coil or a coil wire to plug is cracked. usually you have to wait for a coil to cool down before a bike will start again. not sure with the choke cable, but spring you should have to keep the fuel/air mix screw. not sure if that hampers the running of machine. when it dies, does it seem it is running out of gas or electrical breakdown?
  13. the atv motor oil does the transfer case too ... here is the manual, download post #3 ... http://www.quadcrazy.com/atvforum/yamaha-atv-forum/11168-yamaha-atv-service-manuals.html

  15. found this on a polaris forum and the guy had the same symptoms as you ,,, If you follow the the throttle cable out of the throttle control box on the handle bar the cable will get a little fatter. Slide the covering back & loosen the lock nut & turn the cable to remove the slack in the cable so theres a 1/8" gap in the contacts, retighten the lock nut & slide covering back over
